Keypad App Reviews

Buyer beware: Waste of money

I wish I had read the reviews previously :( This app is indeed a complete waste money as you cannot use it to send touchtones during a call.

You cannot use it to dial numbers while on customer support calls

I guess I misunderstood the purpose. This does not allow you to dial number while on Customer Support calls. Like dial 1 for english kind of calls. It is to dial numbers that does not require further feedback from keypad. Waste of a $

Great!

This program do what it says and it’s very comfortable not to have to open the creepy facetime to make a phone call. Despite of it, I needed support and they were extremely quick on solving and kind on their treatment.

Limited Functionality

I bought this thinking it would replicate the functions of my iPhone keypad. Unfortunately, it does not. It does allow you to place calls by searching your contacts or by pressing the numbers on the keypad but it will not let you dial numbers while in the middle of a call, as you need to do sometimes, i.e. press 2 for billing etc. One other glitch: it does not show ‘companies’ when searching your contacts.

The authentic one.

After participating in the beta testing of this product, its wonderful to see the Devs. have this out in the App store for mac. I was a little too excited and purchased Call pad by accident, and the developer of that one clearly did NOT put in nearly as much thought into his app, nor did he test it properly prior to release. This product, once announced, only served to give the “other” developer a means to ride the concept on its coat tails and trick people into purchasing his instead. That logic wont get you far in life my friend. As most innovative writers and developers at/for Apple have learned, imitation is Not always going to inspire flattery. Now that I have my official version of this concept, it is easy to see who spent the time to polish thier product, not rush it to release, and sincerely worked very very hard to make it as lovely as the rest of Yosemite in its design. After all your efforts E & H, I still bucked up a second time to get the real deal, and It is my hope that this review will assist others in not rushing to buy the early clone of this idea. It is only $1.00 but it is the principal here. If it were up to me, this app would be a permanent inclusion in a future version of Mac OS X. Huge kudos to the devs for this. Fantastic work.

Good App!!

Good App. Makes calling from the Mac MUCH easier! Not sure why apple doesn’t include something like this.. For all the Bragging Apple did about the making and recieving phone calls from the Mac. Apple is loosing focus on simplicity,, Thanks for this APP!!

Does what it says it does, but limited functionality.

The app does what it promises to do, but Yosemite is lacking the functionality to turn this into a more viable soft phone replacement. As pointed out before, no DTMF (touch tones) support while on a call, and no ability to route calls to a headset, for example. Not a fault of the application, rather, a fault of Apple’s. Still, it limits the usefulness of Keypad for me. It does allow you to dial calls that aren’t in your Contacts book, however, so 5 stars there if that’s only what you’re looking for.

Its ok but no way to send key strokes to call

I bought this app primarily so that I could dial 1800 numbers from my computer and use my headset to wait on hold rather than my phone. However, I am unable to get past the press one to do something menus. Which makes this mostly useless for me. Also once a call is on a phone there is no way to send it back to the laptop so I can’t even press keys on my phone.

Fails to send touch tones through the call.

This is no better than using Facetime and choosing call through iPhone. There is no way to pass additional touch tones through the call once it is established. Forget about calling support lines, or joining conference calls.

Does not work and wasted $1.29 :-(

I was looking forward for a simple tool that would resolve a miss by Apple Designers ( from my POV) I like to have a dial pad on screen. However, this dial pad appears but nothing else. It just sits there. Does not interact with FaceTime. Can’t make a phone call from it. Tried pasting phone number into it and nothing much pops. I would not recommend this and am very disappointed in my purchase.

FN junk

Good for nothing, dont buy at!!! Not working at all when you pace a call in the computer, have to swich back to the phone.

Does not work, waste of money.

Adds absolutly no value over FaceTime even when it is actually working, a total waste of time and money.

CRAP App

This application is crap. You cannot use the touch screen while speaking. Useless.

Great addition for direct dialing in Yosemite

I had the pleasure in beta testing this application this summer. Great application for dialing direct in OS X Yosemite, something that cannot be done unless the number is in your Contacts. The developers were quick to respond to any bug reports and worked hard to remedy them. Now a flawless app, it’s a great addition to OS X Yosemite. Kudos to Harrison and Eytan for a great app! Well worth the $.99.

Great app - love the widget too

It’s simple, easy to use - and has great support. That’s the trifecta of a great app (and developer) in my book.

Works great - if you know how it works

This works great. The think to know is that after you select a contact or dial a number, facetime will prompt you (in the upper right of your screen, in my case) to make the call. I didn’t see that at first and thought it wasn’t working. Very Handy!

Does Not dial Business Contact

Great App with potential, but will not dial Business Contacts in OSX / iOS Contacts app. Not good for thos who use iPhone for buisnes purposes. Please fix this flaw.

Great Add-On to Yosemite!!

Totally awesome add on for calling numbers not stored in my contact list!

Great App for making phone calls from your Mac!

This is a fantastic App to dial direct phone numbers and have a conversation from your Mac using the Continuity feature of Yosemite (which uses your cell phone). It works great and it is so simple to use. It even is accessible in Notification Center if you want to use it there. Enjoy it.

Yes, and drum roll….

A program like “dialectic” does so much more, I’m wondering if this is about financial incentive or really providing a useful app service. I bought it, I use it, but a buck seems like plenty for an ‘app’ that simply fills in the missing obvious from Yosemite.
